CUT & RUN GLASGOW - BANKSY

Saturday 29 July 2023

Cut & Run at The Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow is Banksy's first solo exhibition in 14 years!

The GoMA exhibition unveils original and iconic stencils used throughout Banksy's 25-year career, in addition to other behind-the-scenes artefacts, ephemera, and props. The exhibition has been in the works for over three years and gives a never before look into Banksy's process and progression as an artist.

One of the original reasons Bansky became famous was his ability to quickly spray paint large intricate works using stencils, instead of many street artists at his time who were spray painting by hand. This also made it increasingly difficult for the artist to be caught by police because of the speed he could cover a wall. Now, without the fear of being arrested, Banksy is able to show the stencils that have been kept in hiding for all these years.

The exhibition runs until the 28th of August, 7 days a week. Only a few online tickets to the Glasgow show remain and limited on-the-day walk-up tickets are available from 9 am daily, but fear not, as you can still make it to Electric curates. Banksy. Our exhibition features rare prints, posters and other ephemera from the controversial artist’s 25-year career, as well as the official Cut & Run Exhibition poster set, including the Exhibition Tote Bag and Labour Book. With all works available for sale.

“I’ve kept these stencils hidden away for years, mindful they could be used as evidence in a charge of criminal damage. But that moment seems to have passed, so now I’m exhibiting them in a gallery as works of art. I’m not sure which is the greater crime”
– Banksy
