Get to know Adam Bridgland.....
In the wild world of contemporary art, Adam Bridgland isn't your run-of-the-mill artist. Nope, he's got this knack for capturing British vibes like no other. "I'm inspired by everyday life, mundane life, nostalgia, music, song lyrics, travel, and fan clubs," said Adam at the opening night of ELECTRIC curates. Adam Bridgland at the Hoxton, Shoreditch.
Back in 2009, things really kicked off when Commissions East gave him his first big public art gig. Since then, he's been teaming up with big names like Comme Des Garcons, Soho House, and even the V&A Museum. It took a minute for Bridgland to own up to being an artist. "Only in the last four to five years that I've felt like, yes, I am an artist."
In essence, Adam Bridgland is not just an artist; he is a storyteller, a curator of memories, and a guardian of British sentiments. "You should learn to accept the word 'no' as an artist. If you do that, you'll have a career. You've got to learn that art is subjective and take the opportunities that are given to you, and hopefully, your career will snowball from that".
Adam's most recent work? Look Up I Put Your Flag On The Moon, which Adam printed live at Hoxton and is exclusive to Electric. "I created a print I'm screen printing tonight, especially for the event. It's based on the night, and I think that's what makes it special," said Adam.
