Amy Gardner is an Australian- born, London-based artist, known best for her brightly coloured prints. Amy merges printing formats, lino, screen print, monoprint and etchings, often synthesising them with acrylic paint, ink pulling and photography.
The main driving force behind Amy’s work is empowerment. She celebrates womanhood, embraces imperfections and the power of “women supporting women”. She does this by combining humour with found images from 1950’s advertising to smash the ideal of the ‘perfect woman’ and to illustrate just how archaic, yet prevalent these ideals in contemporary culture are.
Amy works from her garden studio and in communal print studios across London. Her works are becoming noticed as galleries across the country are now showcasing and exhibiting her works. Amy’s works have proved to sell out at various international art fairs in past years.
