Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2025: Highlights, Featured Artists & Electric Gallery Connections

With summer in full swing, the doors of London’s Royal Academy have opened once again for the return of a much-loved highlight in the cultural calendar: the Summer Exhibition 2025.

As the world's largest open-submission art show, the RA Summer Exhibition brings together famous names and fresh voices for a truly democratic celebration of contemporary creativity.

A London Art Institution Returns for 2025

Renowned for bringing together famous, household names from within the art world, and mixing them with contemporary art from members of the public, the RA Summer Exhibition is the world's largest open-submission art exhibition.

Featuring over 1,700 art pieces in the heart of London, art collectors can find the RA Summer Exhibition at Burlington House in Mayfair. Running from June 17th to August 17th, you can go explore amazing contemporary art in London.

As an art destination stocking modern, contemporary works from leading and emerging artists, Electric Gallery thrives on what is happening in the art world right now, and experiencing the RA Summer Exhibition is a highlight of our yearly calendar.

What to Expect at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2025

This year’s show, curated by internationally acclaimed architect Farshid Moussavi RA and her committee, is built around the theme Dialogues. Moussavi wanted the exhibition to celebrate art & architecture’s unique ability to spark conversation and foster connection, rather than dwelling on division.

You can expect to discover Ryan Gander’s whimsical large-scale installation featuring five towering 3-metre inflatable balls, alongside bold new paintings by Tracey Emin and a striking selection of sculptural works suspended from the gallery ceiling.

In amongst the famous artworks from the likes of Georg Baselitz, Cornelia Parker, Frank Bowling, Grayson Perry you are going to find an eclectic mix of work by emerging talent and first-time exhibitors.

Spotlight on Artists Represented by Electric Gallery

We're proud to see two artists we represent at Electric Gallery - Nadia Attura and Anthony Burrill - featured in this year’s RA Summer Exhibition. Both bring distinct voices to the show, and their inclusion highlights the strength and relevance of the work we champion.

Nadia Attura works as a fine artist and is primarily based in London. She creates photographed details which she makes on location. These are then layered to form collected scenes within a scene and together they convey a sense of place and time. Browse available works by Nadia on Electric Gallery here.

Graphic artist Anthony Burrill combines a knack for simplicity that packs a punchline with powerful and positive messages, within his art prints.

Why the RA Summer Exhibition Matters to Collectors and Emerging Artists

Running every year since 1769, the RA Summer Exhibition is not only the world's largest open submission art exhibition, but also the oldest. It offers opportunities to everyone, from emerging artists to leading figures in contemporary art & architecture, while giving collectors a diverse insight into the current landscape of the art world.
