Introducing Paul Farrell at Electric Gallery: The Big Hand Series
We are super excited to introduce you to the newest artist on our roster. Meet designer, author and artist, Paul Farrell.
Exclusive to Electric, Paul unveils his latest body of work Big Hand - a playful exploration of the universal language of gestures, where everyday hand signals become bold, graphic compositions: simple, expressive, and instantly recognisable.

About the artist: Paul Farrell
Paul Farrell is a graphic artist and designer based in Bristol, UK. After graduating in 1988, his creative career began in London as a graphic designer specialising in brand design. Now self-employed, Paul divides his home studio time between graphic design and illustration and is also an author and print maker.
Brought up on a diet of seventies pop culture, pattern and graphic arts, his bold, colourful and geometric style translates the everyday into simple and playful imagery.
Paul has been commissioned in the UK and overseas by Apple, Meta, Harper Collins, Calvin Klein and the Hayward Gallery, London, for a variety of projects across stationery, art, packaging, fashion, retail, product and publishing.

Big Hand: a graphic study of gesture
Hand gestures form a symbolic, non-vocal language - a shorthand way of sending a message without the need for words, particularly if we are communicating in a foreign language, both in life and online.
Big Hand is Paul’s personal illustrative project and a study of common gestures, created using a consistent graphic template and a series of uniform shapes. The result is a collection that feels immediate and clear: everyday signals distilled into confident colour, clean geometry, and graphic balance.
It’s playful, but also beautifully designed. Works that feel at home in modern spaces, and equally strong as a standalone statement or as a set.
Designed for Interior Impact
Big Hand is designed to bring colour, personality, and graphic impact to any interior.
The series works especially well in:
- clean, neutral spaces where you want a bold focal point
- hallways, living rooms, studios and home offices
- gallery walls where repetition and rhythm matter
- interiors that lean modern, mid-century or design-led
If you’d like help choosing a single piece or building a pair/set, we’re always happy to advise.
