Holly Brandrick

Holly Brandrick is a visual artist based in Shipston-On-Stour, Warwickshire. The artwork is an extension of her everyday life - drawing upon photos taken, films seen, things felt, stories read etc. in order to create oil paintings that depict a world which is not too far from reality, yet still gives a sense of strangeness and mystery. Narratives transpire through the characters and their unusual surroundings, often amalgamations of interior and exterior references, warping the viewer's perception of the setting, amplified further by the manipulated perspective. Symbolism is a strong element in the wall art, with references to topics such as death, love, loneliness, religion and everything between that either connects or disconnects us as human beings.
